Using the SOTP (Sex Offender Treatment Program) Program Administration screen, you can add patients to the program, manage program treatment plan, and document refusals to the program. To access this screen, click the Programs option from the Global Menu, then select SOTP.
At the top of the SOTP screen, you will find three tabs representing three queues, Program Entry, Program, and Refusals along with the following fields and columns of information:
- Refresh button – Click this button to refresh the screen.
- Add Patient button – Click this button to admit a patient into the SOTP program. The system displays the Admit Patient screen, where you can use the dropdown to select your patient from the list.
- First Name – This field displays the patient’s first name.
- Last Name – This field displays the patient’s last name.
- Booking Number – This field displays the patient’s booking number.
To add a patient to SOTP, select the toggle switch (1) next to the patient’s name and then select an Action (2) from the dropdown menu. Finally, click Perform Action (3).
When adding a patient to the SOTP, your Action options are SOTP Agreement to Participate, SOTP Limits of Confidentiality, and Move to Queue. The Agreement to Participate and Limits of Confidentiality options provide consent forms that you are to complete and save.
Program tab
In the Program queue, the Action menu allows you to complete the:
- Clinical Assessment: You may choose an initial assessment or reassessment.
- Monthly Progress Report: Allows you to document in the following areas: attendance, homework, responsibility, insight, participation, and treatment plan.
- Treatment Plan: Allows patient to address/answer questions regarding progressive modules that make up the treatment program. The form is to be completed and signed by the patient. There is an option for refusal to sign.
- Treatment Summary: Reviews sexual offense and other relevant criminal history, treatment details, and a risk and need summary.
- Move to Queue: Allows you to move a patient to the program entry or refusal queue.
To complete any of the forms, select the toggle switch (1) next to the patient’s name, then select an Action (2) from the dropdown menu. Choose the form you want to complete, then click the Perform Action (3) button. Once you have completed any of the forms for the patient, the system begins a timer which counts down the days and time until the next assessment is due for the patient. Patients that are overdue display in red.
When adding a patient to the SOTP Programs tab, your Action options are SOTP Clinical Assessment, SOTP Monthly Progress Report, SOTP Treatment Plan, SOTP Treatment Summary (this should be completed when the patient has completed the program, usually 10-12 months), and Move to Queue. The first 4 options provide additional forms for you to complete and save.
Refusals tab
Once you have selected a patient from the list by turning on the toggle next to their name, you can select an Action: the SOTP Refusal to Participate form or the option to Move to Queue. Select the action and then click the Perform Action button.
The system opens the SOTP Refusal to Participate form. The Classification Staff and the patient should sign the form. Click Save & Complete once you capture the signatures.
If the patient refuses to sign, click the Patient Refused to Sign checkbox. In this instance, the system requires a Witness Signature and the Classification Staff Signature. Click Save & Complete once you capture the signatures.
The Move to Queue option allows you to move the patient to the Program Entry queue or the Program queue.
