The Provider’s Queue includes the following tabs:
- Alerts
- Nursing Protocol Review
- Drug Orders

- Drug Interaction Overrides
- Refusals – visible when you click More Reports dropdown and select this option.
- Diet Orders – visible when you click More Reports dropdown and select this option.
- Non-Formulary Tier 3 – visible when you click More Reports dropdown and select this option.
Alerts – The Alerts tab displays a list of all alerts sent directly to the Provider’s Queue. The system defaults to displaying All Types, Open Status, the Past Week and In Custody patients.
You can filter by the following list of Alert Types:
Additionally, you can filter to view Closed (signed off) Alerts or Alerts for patients out of custody.
If you want to sign off on all alerts in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual alert in the list, select the toggle switch next to the alert, then click Sign Off Selected. You can also use the Action dropdown menu to Sign Off on a single alert.
The information on this tab defaults to the past day. The system displays a list of all patients with NURSING PROTOCOL forms completed by non-providers for your review. To remove a patient from the list and acknowledge review of the form, click the Action dropdown menu, then select Sign Off.
Drug Orders – The Drug Orders tab displays a list of all Medications ordered by a non-Prescriber user in TechCare®. You can filter your list by ALL drugs or select and view drugs that were ordered under an individual Prescriber’s name. The system defaults to displaying all drug orders from the Past Week for All Custody Statuses and All Prescribers.
If you want to sign off on all drug orders in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Orders. To sign off on an individual drug order, select the toggle switch next to the medication, then click Sign Off Orders.
Treatment Orders – You can view a list of treatment orders that have been ordered by a non-Provider user in TechCare®. The system defaults to displaying the treatment orders from the Past Week, for patients In Custody and from All Providers. You can view ALL treatment orders or select and view treatments ordered under an individual Provider’s name.
If you want to sign off on treatment orders in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual treatment order, select the toggle switch next to the treatment, then click Sign Off Selected.
Treatments Review – The Treatments Review tab displays a list of all Treatments ordered by a non-Provider user in TechCare®. You can view all treatments for patients regardless of custody or select and view treatments ordered under an individual Provider’s name. The system defaults to displaying all treatments ordered in the Past Week, for patients In Custody, and All Providers.
If you want to sign off on treatments in the list, select the check box at the top to turn on all check boxes below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual treatment, click the check box next to the treatment, then click Sign Off from the Action dropdown menu.
Diagnostic Orders – The Diagnostic Orders tab displays a list of all lab and radiology orders for review in TechCare®. You can filter your list by ALL labs and radiology orders or select and view orders that were ordered under an individual Prescriber’s name. The system defaults to display all lab and radiology orders from the Past Week for All Custody Statuses and All Prescribers.
If you want to sign off on all diagnostic orders in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual diagnostic order, select the toggle switch next to the order, then click Sign Off Selected. You can also use the Action dropdown menu to Sign Off on a single diagnostic order.
Diagnostics Review – This tab displays a list of all lab and radiology orders with results pending review. To view results, select View from the Action dropdown menu. The system defaults to ALL Providers, the Past Week, and ALL patients (in custody and out of custody).
If you want to sign off on all lab and diagnostic results in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual lab or diagnostic result, select the toggle switch next to the result, then click Sign Off Selected.
Records Review – The Records Review tab displays a list of records received from offsite visits, onsite specialty visits, and hospitalizations. The system defaults to displaying All record types (Offsite, Hospitalization and Onsite records), All Statuses (Positive and Negative), All Custody Statuses, and All Ordering Physicians. You can narrow the list by adjusting the information in these fields.
To view the appointment information for the patient, select View Appointment from the Action dropdown menu. To view documentation for the appointment, select View Document from the Action menu.
If you want to sign off on all records in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual record, select the toggle switch next to the result, then click Sign Off Selected. You can also use the Action dropdown menu to Sign Off on a single record once you have reviewed.
Drug Reorder – The Drug Reorder tab displays a list of medication orders expiring within the filter parameters. You can filter the drugs by a specific timeframe, prescription constraints, or by provider. By default, the system excludes all OTC, PRN, ATE, and NOW orders and drugs that do not have a minimum duration of 30 days. It defaults to All doctors and no constraints. Once you select your options and click Filter, the system displays the list of medication orders that are expiring matching the set criteria.
If you want to reorder all medications in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Re-Order. To reorder an individual medication, select the toggle switch next to the medication, then click Re-Order. You can also use the Action dropdown menu to Re-Order on a single medication once you have reviewed. You can also set the medication as allow to expire by selectin the Set ATE option.
Drug Interaction Overrides – This tab displays any Drug Interaction warnings received by users that have been overridden. The system defaults to displaying the warnings received the Past Week and All potential Interaction Types. To view the interaction information for a drug in the list, use the Action dropdown menu and select the View Details option.
To acknowledge that you have reviewed the interaction override, select Sign Off from the Action dropdown menu.
Refusals – Defaults to the Past Week, In Custody patients and requires choice of a Refusal Type (CIWA, Opiate and Benzo; Diagnostics; Medication or Treatments). Choose a type and click Filter. The system displays results if the following criteria are met for each type of refusal:
- CIWA, Opiate and Benzo: two consecutive refusals of assessment.
- Diagnostics: any refusal at all.
- Medication: three consecutive refusals of the same medication.
- Treatments: three consecutive refusals of the same treatment.
Diet Orders – The Diet Orders tab displays a list of diet order forms that were completed by clinical staff other than providers.
The system defaults to displaying all diet orders received the past week for all those patients in Active custody. If you want to approval all diet orders in the list, select the toggle switch at the top to turn on all toggle switches below, then click Sign Off Selected. To sign off on an individual diet order, select the toggle switch next to the order, then click Sign Off Selected.
Non-Formulary Tier 3 – The Non-Formulary Tier 3 tab displays non-formulary requests that have been escalated from Tier 2 (the Pharmacy). The system defaults to display requests from the Past Week. To access the Non-Formulary Tier 3 tab, click the More Reports dropdown menu from the Provider’s Queue and select Non-Formulary Tier 3.
To view the request, select View Non Formulary Request from the Action dropdown menu. You also have the option to Approve, Not Approve, Request Additional Information, or add Additional Information from this menu. When you request additional information, the system displays a window for you to enter any additional information required before you approve the non-formulary medication.
